[Media Coverage] NHK Close-up Gendai: “Beyond Heat Stroke!? The New Risk of Climate Change-Related Deaths”
Professor Masahiro Hashizume was invited as a guest health expert on NHK’s live program “Close-up Gendai” on September 10, 2024. He discussed the impact of heat stress, providing valuable insights into the rising health risks associated with high temperature.
In the program, our published study titled “A Nationwide Comparative Analysis of Temperature-Related Mortality and Morbidity in Japan” was featured as supporting evidence. The research helped highlight the critical issue of climate change and its link to heat-related illnesses, raising public awareness on this pressing health concern.
