- Global Burden of Disease
- Understanding the extent and causes of death and disability and the risk factors that cause them is essential for priority setting and program evaluation nationally and globally. The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington is facilitating this complex and challenging task, nowadays known as the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD). We work closely with IHME to produce accurate, up-to-date burden of disease assessments at the national, subnational, and global levels and to improve the sophisticated methodology underlying this process.
